Overview

Folarm is an iPhone alarm app that helps users complete a Wake Up Selfie flow when an alarm rings. Folarm does not require an account, login, subscription, or in-app purchases.

Core alarm data is stored on your device. If OpenAI verification is configured for Wake Up Selfie, a captured selfie may be sent to OpenAI's API to help determine whether you appear awake.

Information We Collect

Local App Data

Folarm may store the following information locally on your device in order to function:

Camera Access

Folarm requests camera access for the Wake Up Selfie flow. Camera access is used to capture a selfie during the alarm flow.

Folarm does not request access to your photo library for this feature. Folarm does not use Wake Up Selfie to identify you, verify your identity, match your face against other images, or create a biometric profile.

Alarm Permission and AlarmKit

Folarm may request iOS alarm authorization, including AlarmKit authorization where available, to schedule and manage alarms. This permission is used only to provide alarm functionality.

Motion & Fitness Permission

Motion & Fitness permission may still exist in the current build for motion-based interactions, but it is not part of the primary live Wake Up Selfie flow. If requested, this permission is used only for in-app motion interactions and can be managed in iPhone Settings.

OpenAI API Selfie Verification

If OpenAI verification is configured for Wake Up Selfie, Folarm may send the captured selfie image and a limited instruction to OpenAI's API to help determine whether the user appears awake.

This processing is used only for the Wake Up Selfie verification flow. Folarm does not use OpenAI verification to identify the user, verify identity, match faces, or create a biometric profile.

Account, Sharing, and Storage

No Account Required

Folarm does not require you to create an account or sign in. Folarm does not currently offer subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Data Sharing

Folarm does not sell your personal information.

Folarm may share a Wake Up Selfie image with OpenAI as a service provider only when OpenAI verification is configured for the selfie check. OpenAI processes that request according to its applicable API terms and policies.

Folarm does not request location, microphone, contacts, photo library, Bluetooth, tracking, HealthKit, or Face ID permissions. Folarm does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

Data Storage

Folarm stores core app data locally on your device. Because of this, deleting the app may also delete locally stored app data unless your device backup settings preserve it.

Folarm does not maintain an online account or cloud photo library for Wake Up Selfie. OpenAI verification, when configured, is limited to the selfie check described above.

Permissions and Choices

Permissions

Folarm may request permissions needed to provide its current features, including alarm authorization, camera access, and, if present in the build, Motion & Fitness permission for motion-based interactions.

You can manage app permissions at any time in iPhone Settings.

Your Choices

You can disable permissions in iPhone Settings, delete alarms and app data inside the app where supported, or delete Folarm from your device. Disabling alarm authorization or camera access may prevent core alarm or Wake Up Selfie functionality from working correctly.

Children's Privacy

Folarm is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
